Hudak Slipping

The projection has the Progressive Conservatives winning 51 seats, the Liberals winning 41 and the NDP winning 15, according to Barry Kay, associate professor of political science at Wilfrid Laurier University.

[..]

“At the moment, things are certainly looking better for the Liberals than they were a few months ago,” said Kay. His last seat projection had the PCs much higher at 63 seats and the Liberals at 25.

“Momentum seems to be slipping at the moment, slipping away from the Conservatives,” he said. “And that does tend to mean something. Public opinion does tend to move in waves sometimes.”

Kay puts it down to a fear of spending cuts, in which case Hudak's plan to screw Ontario municipalities out of a 1/2 billion in uploading costs won't help turn these numbers around.  Its an idea that has been widely panned and ineptly defended.  A hint to Lisa Macleod: you don't quell suspicions that a Hudak government will renege on commitments to Ontario municipalities by repeating a number $500,000,000 below the sum of those commitments.

So if it's a minority legislature do you think the NDP and Liberals will agree to a coalition government, a 95-97 style accord or the more traditional ad hoc "confidence and supply" arrangement?

Seems to me the momentum is now with the Liberals. I loved the latest TV ad with the premier acknowledging that he is not the best liked then goes on to recite all these wonderful accomplishments. Its positive and has created a really good buzz
