Don Cherry: Prude

Actually, I think the Russian Jrs getting plastered & booted off a plane humanizes them. Also reminds me of my youth. Don Cherry has become the Queen of tut tut.

Ermm... may I just mention that Mr. Cherry has coached in the World Junior Championships. None of his players behaved like this. He's got the right to talk about it; he's done it.

Of course they didn't. They lost.

And they lost spectacularly! Just like the Bruins did last night.
GO HABS GO!

He didn't criticize them for any reason other than they were Russia. Cherry hates Russians (and most European hockey players). Always have. The alcohol and being removed from the plane is just a pretext.

Imagine the roles being reversed. The Canadian junior team, having gone to Moscow as a big underdog beat a favored Russian team. The Canadian kids celebrated their remarkable come-back victory a little too hard, were a bit rowdy and loud on the plane, and were removed. If anyone thinks Cherry would be critical of these, "good Canadian boys" then that person knows nothing of Don Cherry.

Uh, the players were spectacularly drunk. Some so much so that they had to be carried off the bus that brought them to the airport.

Since the Democrats have tightened airport security so much more to the point of absurdity, that type of conduct is no longer tolerated, even for a harmless celebration.

ah yes the democrats because security started to increase under that great Democrat president George W Bush...
