David Akin Should Out His Source

Given that Jean-Daniel Lafond has responded thusly to David Akin's GG's hubby Queen-hater?, I think Mr. Akin should should follow what seems to be recognized journalistic practice and out his "source close to the government".

Interesting, too, in that a key quote from this "source close to the government" disappears in the final version of the story.

Isn't this guy close to the government? I got my own anonymous sources saying he's in deep on this one.

To be fair to Akin, "voices in my head" are not a credible source. I can see why he's sitting quietly in the corner hoping his lies will be forgotten. He can probably count on the next newscycle.

Nice to see Sun Media isn't disappointing.

I'm sure JD-Lafond could easily make this happen by threatening a lawsuit. Why do you suppose he hasn't?

I am sure that unnamed source had an axe to grind. Given that JDL and MJ are on their way out, I am sure the temptation was too good to resist.

Further, there is no shortage of animosity by the CPC government against Jean. Heck, the former Clerk of Privy Council, who was lauded as an esteemed public servant, allegedly said that Harper's problem was going to be Rideau Hall.

In any event, with Johnston's appointment, who will probably bring the institution back to playing second string to the Prime Minister, people will most likely chalk this up as a parting shot. For all of Jean's missteps, she actually brought some life and energy into the office.

As for Akin, well, I am sure glad that the future of Koryvision looks so bright with such changes to reporting.

But not quite as tempting as the irresistible urge to open your mouth, apparently.
