Although WWI Started Off Poorly As Well...

I am trying to restrain my typical dark cynicism over stuff like this, but if one more stupid thing happens, like for example the Canadian Olympic Beer Tent catches fire, I may not be able to stop myself from whipping out the Atlanta, Georgia comparisons.

Did Olympic security not think that a West Coast Event would attract West Coast, anti-G20, anti-globalization, black mask anarchist types?

PS. Riot pictures here. Quite a few of them. By the way, I'm on the cops side here 100%. Brain as many of them as you need to. They're young. It'll grow back.

My question is, how many of those wearing masks and dressed in black were actually cops?

You mean the protests were, like, a police make-work project?

Along the lines of Montebello

Well, it's not like they have anything better to do. Beyond sending text messages, reading the paper, taking photos of each other and going to watch the torch relay.

The RCMP stationed at the checkpoint outside my home took off for 20 minutes to watch the torch, along with all the other people stationed there except one solitaty volunteer.

Somebody could have driven a car-bomb into the red zone and done significant damage in that time.

They knew it, but, as I recall, they were facing a good deal of criticism for the security measures being put in place and backed off a bit.

Aunty Bertha, that doesn't make any sense at all. The cops were breaking windows and harassing visitors to... stop protestors from breaking windows and harassing visitors? Come on, the comparison with Montebello is a joke, that would be more relevant if they had gone to the actual meetings and roughed up George Bush.

I have to doubt that it was cops in Black. Those are well known anti-poverty activists. Some of which I know, some of which are out of province.
They represent the extremists of the Anarchist anti-olypic protesters.

* that is the most useless link ever. Do you have any proof for your comment or is it out in the range of tinfoil as well?

as someone who watched these bozos from the sidewalk as they played anarchist wannbes down Georgia St, I'd bet whatever there were no undercover cops . . .

The best part is for the rest of the day, as tens of thousands of happy people wandered around downtown, little rumps of protesters were laughed at, mocked & ridiculed as they banged their drums and complained about whatever.

Cops handled it well, refused to be drawn into a riot. They just moved them along until the wackos got tired. An hour later it was like they were never there.

That was a false flag operation. Whether they were cops or other costumed fake protesters, they were not who they claimed to be.
