Nannies Gone Wild

What the folks at the Caregiver Resource Centre are now demanding.

IMMEDIATE PERMANENT RESIDENCE STATUS
TO ALL CAREGIVERS

GIVE RESPECT! DIGNITY! INTEGRITY! TO THE
3 COURAGEOUS CAREGIVERS

STOP THE ABUSE
STOP THE EXPLOITATION

EXPOSE AND DISPOSE RUBY DHALLA & FAMILIES'
ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION
TO 3 CAREGIVERS

RESIGN! RUBY DHALLA! RESIGN!

I rather think concentrating on Ruby and the Dhalla family over-personalizes the issue, and will probably hurt their broader efforts in the mid to long term.

In any case, Ms. Gordo (one of the three caregivers who has made accusations against the Dhallas), who wasn't going to be speaking to the media anymore, is speaking to the media.

Frankly, I don't care about these people. I've never liked these Gastarbeiter programs, which only benefit upper income people anyway.

They're protesting too much - makes me suspicious.

I've had it with them (the nannies).

Oh come now Sandi. I know you're rural, but try not to be such a hick, that's supposed to be our (Saskies) job.

Was David Milgaard's mother protesting too much? Are the Kadhrs's protesting too much? Is CAITI protesting too much? Tamils? Palestinians? etc, ad nauseum.

Or is it just that they're protesting a high profile Liberal instead of a Conservative gov't, the police or Israel?

Cheers,
lance

Your comrades seem to think so, CheersLance. Did you wag your finger at them?

Tigger, you'll notice the question marks. They look like this: '?'.

Those generally mean a query, not a statement.

I know in a few more years you'll get the feel for English. Keep trying, you're making satisfactory progress.

Cheers,

It's a little bit like the Clinton-Lewinski thing. At the end, it's much ado about nothing - but the more Ruby fights with them, the more she finds herself digging a hole regarding credibility that may be hard to get out of..

Ok.. so she, or her family, were demanding and unreasonable to their staff. Big Freaking Deal.

And Ti-Guy alludes to a more interesting facet of this whole thing - this constant image of a strong Liberal as an upper-class sort of Leona Hemsley.

The Liberals achilles heal has often been an identification as a party of the intellectual elite, the snobbish, "we know better than you" crowd.

This isn't helping.

I love how the second family deducted the cost of Christmas gifts given to Magdalene Gordo when she left their employ. Classy.

Ya don't work, ya don't get paid, Paul. Those of us that do work know it as "business".

You work a lot of 18 hours days for $4 an hour BCL?
